50th Anniversary Celebration
Shown: SHIELD, fiber, paper, encaustic, 10 x 8 x 3 inches, 2017
I'm pleased to share that I have been invited to exhibit during the annual International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Provincetown has garnered national attention for its history as an art colony. The theme of the show is a play on words about keeping it real -- featuring what's fresh, happening and exciting in the world of contemporary artists incorporating encaustic and cold wax into their practice.
Recovery, paper, fiber, encaustic, 12 x 6 x 3 inches, 2018.
I am part of this group show that opened April 19, 2018 at Seattle's longstanding artist studios in Ballard. Here's a shot of my pieces installed. I took it in panoramic mode on my iPhone which explains the distortion!
Such an opportunity to exhibit side-by-side with work by and about women
Opening Reception: March 15, 2018 from 5-7:30 p.m.

Eight artists working in a diverse manner but with encaustic as a unifying material explore the idea of what is and what is not, what remains and what is lost. For some of them this is a metaphor, and for others it is the basis of their practice. This show will be curated by Martha Pfanschmidt.
